Day 3 we woke up and ate breakfast at the Peace lodge and then checked out and headed two hours Northwest towards Arenal, Costa Rica where the Arenal Volcano is located. But first one last picture at at La Paz Waterfall Garden area.
The drive was beautiful and as always the directions were sketchy but we've learned their style and made it without any problems!
The Springs Resort is VERY well known in Costa Rica. They have filmed a few episodes of the Bachelor at this location and I can see why. It's very neat!!
This is the view from our bed. Literally straight shot to the Volcano!
There are over 20 pools made of natural hot springs at this resort. They all vary in temperatures of low 90's to 101 degrees. It is really neat to see them all over the resort. The resort is extremely secluded. WAY off the beaten path but once you arrive you can see how they built it with the perfect view of the volcano and the river at the base of it runs right through it.
This is the only artificial pool..(cold water). It also has the swim up bar.
The next few pictures are our room. We lucked out that they had 2 nights available (with our late booking). It was literally ONLY these two nights and ONLY this room. The honeymoon suite.
This is our view out the window. We had our own private terrace with our OWN hot springs private pool. AMAZING.
This is our hot springs pool. It was probably 95-98 degrees and completely private
We fell in love with these hammocks. They had them at the other resort too so we are trying to find out where we can get one.
We went and walked around the property for a while to check out all of the hot springs. It is so beautiful here.
Then we decided to take a quick adventure out on the property on the ATV's. The trip was supposed to be about 2 hours but the afternoon rain began (which wasn't a problem) but when the lightening began we felt is was best to turn back! So we were only gone for about 45 minutes.
We were SOAKED. We came back and took a dip in our little hot springs pool and ordered room service. I may or may not have gone to bed at 7:45pm :). We are an hour behind here and I've been waking up at around 4:30am on my own because I normally get up at 5:30am at home. It is SO HARD for me to sleep in BUT we have taken naps every day so that helps. Oh the joy of sleeping whenever we want! We've had fun but we miss our kids terribly. It has been so much harder for us to be away from them this time. But we are loving our adventures!
